Policies

Our Policies

Our policies are outlined in the New Client Form that is filled out on your first visit. These policies are in place to protect your dog, and our groomers. We take our policies very seriously and as a client of Top Knot Dog Grooming, you agree to follow and respect our policies at all times.

Our policies are as follows;

  • Adult/senior dogs must be up to date on their Rabies Vaccination as per Ontario Law. Puppies must be to date with puppy vaccinations at the time of the groom.

  • Owners must arrive on time and be readily available for pick up. If a dog arrives 10 minutes late or more, they may be refused and charged a “late fee”

  • Top Knot cannot hold a dog longer than 15 minutes past the end of their groom. A sitting fee will apply to any dogs not picked up in the designated time frame

  • Top Knot requires 48 Hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. A missed appointment fee up to the cost of the groom will be charged before further appointments are scheduled.

  • In an event of an emergency, Top Knot is authorized to bring my dog to a veterinarian of it’s choice and the owner will be notified immediately.

  • Top knot is not responsible for any conditions or problems discovered during grooming or any pre-existing conditions that worsen during grooming.

  • Owners must disclose any medical conditions that the dog has at the time of the grooming appointment.

  • Top Knot must be notified within 48 hours of any veterinary care that is necessary as a result of services rendered. Reimbursement is at the sole discretion of Top Knot.

  • Top Knot will not de-matt a severely matted dog. Top knot is not responsible for skin conditions uncovered by the groom due to matting. If the dog is too matted, Top Knot has permission to take necessary steps including shaving down my dog.

  • If a dog is discovered to have fleas, the dog will be given a flea bath at the owners expense ($10-$20).

  • Top Knot has the right to refuse to groom any dog for the health and safety of the groomer and the dog.

  • Soft muzzles and e-collars may be used during the groom for the safety of the dog and groomer.

  • Services may be discontinued or refused if a dog presents an unsafe condition. Any dog displaying aggressive behaviour towards a groomer may be refused and/or charged a “handling fee”.

  • Prices are subject to change based on coat condition, dog behaviour, and length of groom.
